First Filipino Faculty Members of UTS
From the year the UTS was founded in 1907, several Filipino educator-mentors made it to the list of faculty members of the seminary. From the pages of "The Beacon Light," the first published "class yearbook" of the seminary in 1923, eight (8) Filipinos were listed — Isidoro Panlasigui (A.B., M.A.); Dionisio D. Alejandro (Ph.B., B.D.); Santiago S. Calo (A.B.); Donato G. Galia (A.B.); Jose Estacion (A.B., Ll.B.); Gerardo Florendo (A.B.); Cirilo del Carmen (A.B.); and Mariano Molina (A.A.). UTS was then a part of the Union Schools.
